New Carmel Valley Homes
As one of the most sought-after places to live, Carmel Valley homes offer a variety of affluent living from gorgeous single-family homes to urban townhomes overlooking the Pacific Ocean. With the San Diego housing market starting to pick up after the end of the Great Recession, we’re seeing a flow of new construction. One of the proposed neighborhoods is One Paseo. This Village would fulfill the “City of Villages” for Carmel Valley homes.
Carmel Valley Homes: New One Paseo Neighborhood Village
The San Diego and Carmel Valley community have been working hard to shape One Paseo to truly represent the needs of people. The result is a design from a team of award-winning architects that is compact with walkable streets and plazas that connects with surrounding land uses. This layout would be appealing from any perspective.
This mixed-use housing project would achieve the city goal of dense housing and commercial development along existing transportation corridors This project won’t only bring more housing to Carmel Valley real estate, but it will make the city more walkable and transportation friendly. By accommodating pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and businesses, residents of Carmel Valley homes can have a unique opportunity to enjoy a vibrant space that currently does not exist locally.
Neighbors can experience a sense of comfort and enjoy a safe, walkable community not only within the project but surrounding the project. There will also be cycle tracks put in place, which are the first of its kinds. These will line Gateway Road, one of the most utilized streets in Carmel Valley. Cycle tracks are separated bike paths with on-street infrastructure.
One Paseo will bring more office buildings and shopping in the area. Residents of Carmel Valley homes can work and play near their home. Main Street can bring community events such as Art Walks, Farmers’ Markets, and other street events. Main Street is lined with amenities, including residential units above retail.
One Paseo won’t only provide residents with new, fun amenities, it will also put money back into the economy and add jobs. It will bring over $630 million in direct new economic activity. This is through job wages, construction jobs fees to the San Dieguito Union High School District among others.
On top of One Paseo’s other benefits, the project is also LEED-certified promoting energy efficient building and lifestyle. This will be one of five projects in the country to meet the prerequisites for LEED for Neighborhood Development (LEED-ND) by the U.S. Green Building Council.
On Tuesday, January 27 City Council will be meeting to discuss the six-year project’s future plan. If you’re interested in voting for the project or wanting to know more attend to support local community growth.
